Gerard Tchofor Pefung

Artist Statement
My work focuses on capturing and exposing the rich African culture. The food, clothing and mannerism of the people fascinate me and inspire my work.
To convey my experiences, I mainly use acrylics and mixed-media; expressing solid bold colors to illustrate the vibrancy and personalities of the subjects. My paintings serves as a tribute and honor to the beauty and character of Africa.

Biography
Born in Cameroon, West Africa; Gerard Tchofor Pefung, grew up being exposed to the rich African culture and traditions. He moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 2001. At Benson High School following the directions of his instructor Mrs. Astra Patterson, he learned various art mediums, forms and styles. He also attended Metropolitan Community College, Omaha, Ne. to further his studies and refine his techniques
His passion is art and his African heritage which he strives to expose to as many people as he can.
