
CAROLYN HADSELL

Since 1987, she has been the art and clay teacher for The Montessori Learning Center of Dundee. She has a BFA in Art Education from UNL, and worked towards a master’s degree in clay at the University of Illinois and the University of Iowa. She holds three teaching degrees and has taught art and clay to children and adults through Metro Comm. College, The Jewish Community Center, and many other schools. She has been active at Baltimore Clay Works, Maryland, and at Omaha Clay Works, Bemis. Her work is often wood fired at the kiln site of Omaha Clay Works. Carolyn was a visiting potter at the Japanese studios of Chiro Ishida, Iga Master of Hachioji, Japan, and with Kamiuchi-San, a Yakoshima-ware potter. She has compiled slide shows of these experiences and other Japanese famous pottery sites, which have been shown at UNO, during docent education at Joslyn for the Mingei-Kai exhibit, and at other shows and schools.
