Artist’s Statement

I have always been intrigued by
mythology, primarily Greek, Roman and Egyptian. Living in Greece for almost six years, on Crete and in Athens, greatly enhanced this fascination. Once I started sculpting, these interests were rekindled. I like to explore the myths and legends of different cultures and see if I can interpret or reinterpret figures, ideas and stories from their various mythologies. Most of my work is figurative and done in bronze although I have also worked in aluminum, steel and wood. I usually work from a simple plaster mold or directly in wax. I rarely make copies of my sculptures.
